| PDFA Fishing & Boating Rules |
1) A $50 deposit is required for trips booked 3 or more days in advance. Your date will not be saved until the deposit is received. Deposits are non refundable. If you choose to reschedule the trip 24hours + before our scheduled time, the full deposit can be applied to another trip. However, if you cancel or reschedule a trip less then 24 hours before our meeting time, the deposit will be kept to compensate me for preparation for the trip. Deposits are non-refundable. 2) Full day trips are 8 hours and half day trips are 4 hours. The allotted time starts once we launch the boat and we will be back at the launch site when the time is up. Please take into consideration that if you book a half day trip it may limit us as to where we can fish due to the time it takes to travel up and down the river. We can fish longer than our allotted time if you wish, for an additional charge of $25 per hour. 3) Fish dressing is included in the trip fee as long as it does not surpass the allotted time for the trip. In other words we need to leave our fishing area early enough for me to have time to dress your catch. If you choose to fish the entire time and then have me clean your fish, there will be an additional $25 charge. 4) Trophy fishing for the big blues in the lower portion of the Pee Dee is catch and release only. No exceptions! If you would like to keep some blue cats to eat then we will need to fish another area of the river. 5) I do not mind if you cast my rod and reels as long as you can without tangling them up. However, I have specific places I cast my rods too while fishing. If you want to have the best trip possible I suggest you let me do the casting. 6) Once the rods are casted out please leave them in the rod holders. Please dont take the rod out of the holder when you think a fish is biting or hold the rod in your hands while waiting for a fish to bite. These big cats bite really hard and fast and will jerk the rod out of your hands. Its best to leave the rod in the holder until I tell you to pick it up. 7) I fish with circle hooks not your regular fish hook. When a fish swims off with the bait the hook will set itself. You do not need to jerk or set the hook. If you pick up the rod and jerk it will actually pull the hook out of the fish's' mouth. If you pick the rod up to soon before the hook is set you will take the bait from the fish. We will have a much better outing if you will leave the rod in the holder until the fish is obviously hooked and pulling the drag, or until I tell you to pick it up. 5) Please make sure you have a tight grip on my rods before getting them out of the rod holder when a fish is on. These catfish pull really hard and can jerk a rod and reel right out of your hands. If this happens or you drop or loose any of my equipment in the water I will expect you to pay for it. My rod and reels cost $250.00 each. Broken rods or faulty equipment is not your responsibility. 6) Please do not show up drunk or get sloppy drunk while we are fishing. Keep your drinking under control. Any drunkenness, laud mouth or annoying behavior will result in me escorting you back to the bank. These are the rules in my boat and I truly appreciate everyone following them. Thank you. |
